August 26 - Women's Vote is Law
Women vote
Voting for women was first seriously proposed in the United States in July, 1848. The propsal was at a Women's Right Convention by Eliazbeth Cady Stanton and Lucretia Mott.  By the time voting for women became law, August 26, 1920, there was only one participant remaining from the convention, and she was too ill to cast a ballot.

In 1893 New Zealand was the first country in the world to grant women the right to vote.
