August 4 - Champagne Discovered

Champagne had been known in the region of Champagne, France since the Middle Ages, but Dom Perignon developed several blends of grapes and technologies that contributed to Champagne's advancement.  Upon its discovery, the French monk was known to have said  "Come quickly, I am drinking the stars."
