August 3 - TRS-80 Introduced

Tandy Corporation's leading position in 1977 allowed their partnership in the "1977 Trinity," Apple, Commodore and Tandy.   By 1979, the TRS-80 had the largest selection of software available.  By the end of its lifetime, the micro-computer was affectionately known as "Trash-80."
