Joanne Murray, nee Rowling, otherwise known as J.K. Rowling, was born on July 31, 1965.  She became famous for not only creating the Harry Potter series but also for her rags to riches personal story from living on welfare to becoming a multi-millionaire within five years.  "I gave my hero a talent I'd love to have.  Who wouldn't want to fly?"
