1. No discussion of any illegal activity or threats of violence.

2. No use of explicit, racist, obscene or vulgar language, images or messages.

3. No posts that attack, insult, flame, defame, or abuse others. Respect other members' opinions. We should respect all points of view. Flaming will not be tolerated.

4. No advertising or links to advertising or "Spam" is permitted.

Advertising or spam is defined as posting a link for the purpose of selling, soliciting or promoting something.

Links promoting fundraising, advocacy, etc. are not permitted.

Sharing of links to helpful and relevant web sites and resources is allowed if they are not used for a promotional purpose.

5. No posts of copyrighted material, lengthy articles, or posts of an overtly political or religious nature (ie. proselyting).

6. Do not post offline personal contact information (ie. your home address, phone numbers etc.) and do not ask for personal information from others. This is to protect your security and identity.

7. Avoid spamming or flooding (continuous posting of repetitive text). We ask you not to do this as it disrupts the flow of chat for other users.

8. The posting of unsolicited advertisements for external web pages or large random copy / paste of texts is also considered spamming.

9. Harassment/Inappropriate Language. Inappropriate language can include any language that in any way looks like, sounds like, or abbreviates any of the following: profanity, sexual content, explicit language, inappropriate references to sexual preferences, or offensive remarks (such as racial, ethnic, religious, or sexual).

10. We may remove anyone who advocates or encourages expressions of violence, bigotry, racist, or hatred as we see fit.

11. Actions that either incite or encourage others to violate these and other policies will not be tolerated.

12. We encourage our members to treat each other with respect. Do not threaten, harass, stalk, or abuse others.

13. Sexual Themes: We do not allow discussions of an explicit sexual nature.

14. Self-Mutilation and Suicide: Discussing or glorifying the practice of "cutting", or any type of suicide and self-mutilation are not allowed

Moderation and Bans

All chat is moderated, and kept on file for historical purposes. Bans are set at the discretion of the moderator setting the ban. The minimum period for any ban is 1 day (24 hours) and can be anything up to indefinite. If you feel you were banned inappropriately, you can inquire about it through the Contact Us Form.

If you find chat that is violating policy, please use the Contact Us form  to report it. Please include the violating member's name in your report.

Content that is Illegal or prohibited include, but are not limited to:

1. Content that is clearly, plainly, and obviously offensive, such as content that promotes racism, bigotry, hatred or physical harm of any kind against any group or individual.

2. Content that harasses and/or advocates the harassment of another person, persons, group or organization.

3. Content that involves the sending of junk mail, chain letters, or spamming, or unsolicited mass mailing.

4. Content that promotes information that you know to be false, misleading or promotes illegal activities or conduct that is abusive, threatening, obscene, defamatory or libelous; such as providing pirated software or links to them, providing information to circumvent manufacture installed copy protection devices, or providing pirated images, audio or video, or links to pirated images, audio or video files.

5. Content that contains restricted or password protected access pages, or hidden pages or images such as those not linked to Subscription fees for Premium Membership may change from time to time or from another accessible page.

6. Content that Provides material that exploits people under the age of 18 (eighteen) in a sexual or violent manner, or solicits personal information from anyone under the age of 18 (eighteen).

7. Content that provides instructional information about illegal activities such as making or buying illegal weapons, violating someone’s privacy, or providing or creating computer viruses.

8. Content that solicits Passwords or personal identifying information for commercial or unlawful purposes from other users or members.

9. Content that engages in commercial activities and/or sales without the expressed written permission of Geek 2 Geek, such as contests, sweepstakes, barter, advertising, and pyramid schemes.

 The above list is not all-inclusive, and there may be situations where a member violates the etiquette policy in another way. In these cases, the Moderator will make the final decision regarding the chat.
